Dear Diary – NE Durham
2/24/10 – MM received the cross section for NE Durham from PB. MM taped the back for stability and then scanned it as a 300 dpi tif image. Then MM georeferenced the image to the cross section line in the main data view and MM rectified it as a tif image. Then MM brought the image into the .mxd as a new data frame. MM rotated the Data View 43.7 degrees to make it appear level. MM then began digitizing the lines in the cross section. Once MM was done with this, MM used ArcToolbox to convert the polylines into polygons. MM then autolabeled the polygons and converted them to annotation, so MM could easily move the text.
2/25/10 – MM began and then finished creating the labels for the cross section. MM made some small adjustments to other parts of the cross section and then properly placed the cross section in the layout.
2/26/10 – MM printed the map, made corrections to it, and made changes to it in the .mxd.
3/2/10 – PB made some corrections to the map and MM noticed that the cross section was not completely correct as far as the Qal contacts are concerned. MM added the Qal contacts to the cross section.
