1/17/13 – MM IS beginning to work on the edits for this map.  PB gave MM four quads to work on in this area and MM have completed edits to Kittrell and Wilton.  MM will start this quad today.  MM brought in the 2010 Diabase points and saved them as Frank_Dike_Points_2010.  MM started to revise the text in the layout.

1/22/13 – MM is assessing what MM will need to do to get this quadrangle ready to be published.  MM will try to consolidate the various shapefiles from the five authors into something like Kittrell or Wilton.  MM started by adjusting the size of the text, focusing on the structural symbols.  MM shrunk the text to 6 Arial Italics and then MM began to increase the size of the rock unit text.  MM noticed everything is too small, so MM had to play with the sizes.  MM decided that the dip text should be 9 Arial Italics and the rock unit text should be 12 Arial.

1/24/13 – MM added the geochemical shapefile and the geochemical chart to the layout.  MM changed the rock unit text to 12 Arial and made other text changes to the map.

1/25/13 – MM started consolidating the shapefiles for each geologist into one feature class.  MM finished most of them, but got interrupted at SS’s shapefiles by inclement weather.

2/11/13 – PB said he wanted to consolidate shapefiles and do other things to Franklinton.  So MM zipped up the entire Franklinton folder and emailed it to PB.

2/12/13 – MM replaced the rock unit text descriptions on the layout with the text from Franklinton Explan Rev 6_28_12.  MM moved on to Grissom.

3/1/13 – MM placed Franklinton_points_master_2013 in the .mxd after receiving it from PB.  Adjustments to follow.

3/8/13 – MM made adjustments to the dip numbers in the map view.  MM also closed gaps in multiple stations at same location.  MM also adjusted the text in the layout to more resemble the FGDC guidelines.  MM then made the structural symbol section of the layout replicate what PB wanted per the Data Dictionary.  MM still need to resolve two entries for pegmatite dike and MM also need to put in the dip numbers in the layout.

3/11/13 – Finished the dip number in the layout, although MM is waiting on PB for duplicate listings of pegmatite dikes.  Made other assorted changes and MM will finish up with changing the fold lines to pink the next time MM get to work on this quad.

3/14/13 – MM made the fold lines pink on the map and the layout and MM adjusted some text in the symbols portion of the explanation.

3/25/13 – MM placed the two stereonets in the layout.

3/26/13 – MM changed the orientation of the text in the cross section to save room.

3/27/13 – MM changed the geochem points shapefile to a feature class in the DISTRIBUTABLE dataset.  MM put the rest of the shapefiles into feature classes and feature datasets.

3/28/13 – MM did more cleaning up with the DISTRIBUTABLE and PRODUCTION folders.  

4/25/14 – MM is beginning to work on this map again, with input from PB.  MM put the geochem points in the layout, under Other Points.  MM changed the author’s names from all caps to upper and lower case.  MM added the term “manuscript Map (Version 4/2014) to the upper right portions of the map.  MM put the Geologist Index into the layout.  

4/28/14 – MM completed all the corrections and additions on the map.  MM drew in a new polygon, and relabeled several polygons from Pzgg to Prgf.  MM drew in, deleted or adjusted several diabase lines on the quad.  MM also conferred with PB about addition Jd2 points, but we both agreed to save what MM had as a pdf and email the layout to him.

4/29/14 – MM made two text corrections and eliminated Jd labels from the red dots, from PB and then printed a copy of the map.

5/17/15 – MM brought in additional Jd2 points from ES.  MM also changed the color of the Jd2 line to Tuscan red.

1/6/16 - MM uploaded latest version of Franklinton map to Google Drive:

2/5/16 - MM printed map of quad sheet and made listing of corrections.  MM began to correct the edits.

2/8/16 - MM completed correction of edits and printed new copy of quad sheet. 

2/9/16 - MM circled symbols with 0 or no dip numbers and awaited opportunity to discuss final edits with PB. 

3/7/16 - Per PB's suggestion, MM used Data Dictionary on C drive to update the Symbol numbers from the Type descriptions.  MM added two points (Phillips) from Franklinton_points_master_2013 to Franklinton_Orientation_Points feature class.  MM changed fold hinge symbol from 9.38 to 9.97 and changed in the Data Dictionary, layout and on quad.  MM made changes to edits and made one final sweep of quad to make sure all changes were completed.  MM added vertical joint to symbol section in layout MM printed map for final edits from KBT and PB.

4/5/16 - MM made some edits from KBT reviews.   MM changed text from Times New Roman to Arial.  Will need PB assistance to complete KBT edits.

4/8/16 - MM reversed changes made for PPrgd back to PPccg; Prg back to PPrgd; Prgf back to PPrgf.  MM brought back PPrgv.  MM inserted (or adjusted) these new rock units in the rock unit descriptions in the layout.  MM added new Geochem table, per PB's email.  MM completed changes and printed map out for final KBT review.

4/13/16 - MM made four additional changes - PPrgv added to CSA, pattern lightened to 20% gray and Speer 1994 added to reference.

7/22/16 - MM changed CZrgn color to standard RGB of 135 206 235.  MM made corrections to KBT changes and printed out map for final review.

7/25/16 - MM made final corrections and added Adjoining 7.5' Quadangles index to layout.
