Littleton

Dear Diary – Littleton
7/22/11 – Once I stopped working on Hollister, I began to work on Littleton.  I created the folders for DISTRIBUTION and PRODUCTION, and then I used ArcToolbox to create a database for the DISTRIBUTION folder.  It took four hours.
7/25/11 – 7/28/11 – I incorporated the data that Phil sent John.  This included the contact lines and polygons.  Then I spent these days arranging the symbols around the observation station, and then arranging the dip numbers around the symbols.  I created annotation feature classes for the dip numbers.
7/29/11 – I arranged the symbols in the lower right corner of the layout.
8/1/11 – I incorporated the second version of the data that Phil sent John.  This included the contact lines, polygons and overlay polygons.  I corrected the ends of the fold lines from a > to a triangle.
8/2/11 – I checked for conflicts between the dip numbers and the newly installed contact lines.
8/4/11 – I appended the Littleton geochem data that Phil sent with the Stoddard_Littleton feature class.  I put the external labels for the points on the map.  I put in the Stereonets.
8/8/11 – I brought in the rock unit description text and fit it into the layout.  Then I brought in the cross section data frame and began to make it work.
8/9/11 – Continued and completed work on the cross section.  Did various tasks to get the layout ready to make a png and send it to Phil and Skip.
8/10/11 – Fixing the symbol descriptions in the lower right portion of the layout using info from the Littleton_Data_Dictionary_Final.xls.  I continued to work with the cross section and I noticed errors on it.  I called Phil to find out how correct the labels with the faults.
8/11/11 – I finished up with the minor changes, including corrections to the cross section, to the map and printed out a copy.  I wrote edits to be corrected on the copy and I fixed the edits.  I added the terrane map (or whatever) to fill some blank space on the left side of the map.   I received an email from Skip and made those changes too.  I sent Phil and Skip a copy of the latest png.  I changed the symbols so that they are angled and have dip numbers.
8/15/11 – Made edits to map from Phil’s 8_12_11 Littleton edits.  Sent png to Phil and Skip.
8/16/11 - Confirmed the colors of polygons between the Littleton_PRODUCTION.mxd and Phil’s Hollister_Littleton_PRODUCTION.mxd.  Turned the MapUnitPolys 40% transparent to match the look of Skip’s 4 quads.  Also changed the colors in the rock unit descriptions.  Saved as png and emailed a copy to Skip and Phil.
1/4/16 - MM uploaded latest version of Littleton map to Google Drive:
