5/4-5/21 - MM completed clipping concealed contacts in Moncure and Merry Oaks after 5 sweeps.
4/27-30/21 - MM continued clipping concealed contacts in Moncure.
4/24/21 (Saturday - 2 hrs) - MM continued clipping contacts in Merry Oaks.
4/19/21 - MM continued clipping concealed contacts in Merry Oaks.
4/15-4/16/21 - MM continued splitting contact lines. Almost finished with the Merry Oaks quadrangle, before going south to Moncure quadrangle.
4/14/21 - MM, per PB powerpoint slide, scooped out innards of MapUnitOverlayPolys and loaded DG (David Grimley) QuatOverlayPolys data. MM also Imported QuatOverlayLines and saved it in the Feature Dataset as MapUnitOverlayLines. MM began process of splitting contact lines where they cross with OverlayPolys. MM created PowerPoint slides to improve the flow of splitting contact lines using a 15-point procedure plan.
3/12/21 - MM got an email from PB today to update the Master Chatham GeMS geodatabase. PB wanted MM to load, reload or enter data for the .gdb, feature dataset or non-spatial table metadata. MM mapped out the procedures to get this done in PowerPoint. MM completed this task.
3/11/21 - MM on the phone with PB for an hour. MM added on to his PowerPoint file and listed changes to be made to the attribute tables of MapUnitPoints and MapUnitPolys. MM will look at Level 3 errors and try and figure out how to correct more of the errors. MM has run Validation and is consulting with PB to correct a few more errors.
3/10/21 - MM made corrections to Level2 errors, as reflected in PowerPoint file. Ran Validation. Corrected a couple of other errors. Ran Reset ID Values in a copy of this .gdb, but it wound up populating the attribute tables in this .gdb. Oh, well. Ran Validation again and there were no more Level 2 errors. Shared this .gdb with PB through Google Drive.
3/9/21 - MM created a new Powerpoint flow diagram to make edits for this map, especially in the attribute tables. MM made a few changes to the attribute tables.
3/4/ 21 - MM created new geodatabase with a new name - ChathamGeMS_Level2_2021.gdb. MM loaded all the data from the old Fresh.gdb to this one. MM did this incorrectly (using Windows Explorer for part of the procedure). MM later renamed Fresh geodatabase to ChathamGeMS_Level2_2021.gdb. It went much better this time. MM sent PB the folder with the geodatabase and the Fresh validation by way of Google Drive and sharing through work email. PB let MM know that Validation is not being fully printed out. Validation is only going to the end of Level2, instead of a fuller report of the errors.
3/3/21 - MM fixed the 8 and 2 errors and ran Validation. There were only 5 and 1 errors this time. MM corrected these errors, as well as one or two Glossary and DataSources errors. MM ran Validation for a second time and wound up with 6 PASS and 3 FAIL Validation errors. MM let PB know that the ball is back in his court.
3/2/21 - MM fixed 36 of the 37 line errors resulting from the topology line errors in the Fresh_Validation.gdb. MM decided to validate database again to see if edits have been recognized. MM found 20 more errors, mainly small adjustments to the MapUnitPolys feature class. MM made the corrections and then ran the Validation Database once again. There are 8 line errors and 2 polygon errors.
2/25-26/21 - MM created a new geodatabase: ChathamGeMS_Level2_2021_Fresh.gdb. MM loaded data from ChathamGeMS_Level2_Master_Version_022221 6 feature classes to the 6 feature classes in the Fresh geodatabase. MM did QC on the 6 feature classes and loaded the metadata from he Feb22 feature classes (all but MapUnitPoints and MapUnitOverlayPolys) to the 4 Fresh feature classes. MM then ran Validate Database on the Fresh .gdb. MM, after getting the go-ahead, loaded the attribute tables for MMU, DataSources and Glossary from Feb22 attributes to the Fresh attribute tables. MM then ran the Validate Database again.
2/9 -11/21 - MM worked on "swiping" polygons to see the difference between MapUnitPolys_Test_123120_2 and MapUnitPolys_Piedmont_August_28_2019. MM made changes to make Test_2 more similar to August_2019. MM made a .doc and sent to PB for some opinions on changes. MM deleted some extraneous feature classes from Chatham16Quads_GeMS_Level2.gdb.
2/5/21 - MM completed first round of PowerPoint corrections.
2/4/21 - MM continued with edit corrections, completing Pages 14-16.
2/3/21 - MM continued with edit corrections, completing Pages 3-13.
2/2/21 - MM loaded Edit_TrackingStart_Chatham_Jan_2021.gdb onto computer so that MM can load GeologicLinesJan2021 into this geodatabase and make edits to it. MM corrected edits on Pages 1 and 2 of PowerPoint page email from PB.
1/14/21 - MM resaved apr in Pro 2.6, instead of 2.7, in order to make the project compatible with the computer at Archdale. Also, edits made in this .apr were not listed in this blog after 12/16 for sme reason. All the edits per PB have been completed and work will now shift to Moncure.
12/16/20 - MM worked on ContactsAndFaults_Oct2020Edits for Merry Oaks. MM copied these lines into CAF and made sure the nodes were snapped together. MM will run topology again at Archdale tomorrow. Will work on Page 8 in PowerPoint on Friday.
12/15/20 - MM continued making edits to pages 3-7 on the PowerPoint instructions and began working on edits on Page 8 in Merry Oaks, after clarifications with PB.
12/11/20 - MM completed snapping nodes to the WGS quadrangle boundaries in CartographicLines. MM moved to 2nd, and then 3rd page of PowerPoint instructions.
12/8-9/20 - MM continued snapping contacts to nodes. MM just has 3 quads to go.
12/4/20 - MM received new corrections to be made. MM started by snapping nodes to WGS CartographicLines in the upper level of quadrangles.
11/9/20 - MM was working with PB today changed some MapUnit (and dot) names from lc to cl. MM also swept the county looking for flaws with the polygons (found 1 error - mislabeled dot, which led to wrong internal label for polygon).
11/6/20 - MM made sure all lines were good and MM turned CAF into polygons and used the dots to label the newly created polygons. MM then labelled blank polygons and need to verify these and find blank polygons without dots on Tuesday.
11/5/20 - MM realized there were errors with MapUnitNames_16quads. The points were offset from polygons. PB gave MM through Drive in an email the link to GeoTiffs of geologic maps that you can use under each quad to verify the polygons are labelled correctly.
11/4/20 - MM continuing filling in attribute tables. MM will double-check OverlayPolys on Friday, then after triple-checking the attribute tables, then MM can go on to create polygons from CAF.
11/3/20 - MM filled in attribute tables for CAF and MapUnitOverlayLines. MM will double-check the other feature classes tomorrow.
10/30/20 - MM filled inattribute tables for newly created lines in CAF after correcting errors in CAF. Also, MM filled in attribute tables in CartographicLines.
10/29/20 - MM completed third sweep. MM looked at Error Inspector spreadsheet and found and eliminated the 9 occurrences of Overlap or Self-overlap.
10/28/20 - MM completed second sweep. MM brought in Geopdf from PB for Green Level, in order to work on contacts that will help construct diabase polygons.
10/27/20 - MM started second sweep.
10/22/20 - MM completed first sweep of quads for topology. Will start second sweep next week.
10/21/20 - MM continued to clean up topology errors. Today, MM completed Merry Oaks, which had a lot of errors.
10/9/20 - MM started to clean up the topology errors in CAF.
10/8/20 - MM did topology on CAF and saved the geodatabase for tomorrow's work.
10/7/20 - MM extended, shortened or whatever was needed to snap the vertices of lines to edgematch the adjoining quadrangles.
10/6/20 - MM populated blank CAF attributes in the Notes columns with the quadrangle names. MM also populated the blank DATA_SOURCES_ID columns for the attributes.
10/02/20 - MM created new project (Chatham_GeMSLevel2_Medina_100220) and brought in CartographicLines, CAF, and MapUnitNames. MM will follow the PowerPoint file in Drive to determine what's next.
