6/25/20 - MM printed map and gave to KT for final edits.

6/23/20 - PB has relinquished control back to MM.  MM loaded the whole folder into the Warrenton folder on the C drive under: C:\MMFolder\Statemap_Henderson_100k\Warrenton\Warrenton_DISTRIBUTABLE\Warrenton_Master_Files_2020\Warrenton_DISTRIBUTABLE\Warrenton_DISTRIBUTABLE.gdb.  MM made the five corrections requested by KT.  MM made quite a few changes to the contacts in CSB after KT pointed out there were some irregularities. One rock unit was missing entirely.  MM had drawn the cross section exactly from DB's drawing. After changes made, MM saved map as pdf and emailed it to PB.  He made two suggestions, which sort of were incorporated.

6/12/20 - PB will take control of DB's addition to this quadrangle for right now. There is a copy here: T:\NCGS_Transfer\Warrenton_Mike_061220. The copy is also on the D drive on your computer.

6/27/18 - MM, along with PB, made final changes to verify map was correct, printed map one more time and saved as pdf.  Assigned OFR 2018-09.  WE'RE DONE!!!

6/26/18 - MM pasted new circular logo into layout.  MM made final printout and awaits approval for map.  PB is researching best way to create GeoPDF.

6/25/18 - MM drew diabase lines and labelled them.  MM labelled some polygons on map.  MM rearranged most objects on layout to fit all of rock description text.  MM made boundary polygon by copying map unit polys and merging them.  MM printed map for review by PB and KBT.

6/22/18 - MM brought in stereonets to layout.  MM moved rock unit boxes into their proper places in layout.  MM printed map for PB review.

6/14/18 - MM traced line and created polylines and polygons for CSA (CSA - old southern cross section now CSB).

6/13/18 - MM arranged symbols in layout portion.  MM brought northern cross section into Data View. 

6/12/18 - MM created all the small polygons, with their polylines, in the PPgw unit in the northern part of Warrenton.  MM updated rock unit descriptions and references.  MM added symbols to the layout, although did not finish placing them correctly in layout.

6/11/18 - MM started and completed creating rock unit polygons for the northern half of eastern Warrenton.  MM started with updating the title and authors.  Will update rock unit descriptions tomorrow.

6/10/18 (Sunday) - MM started and completed arranging symbols and dip numbers.

6/8/18 - MM brought 2018 deliverable files into DISTRIBUTABLE_2018.MXD in preparation for work on 6/10 (Sunday).

6/6/18 - MM transfers Blake_2018_Deliverables_Warrenton folder from T drive to D drive. 

9/11/17 - KBT approves map as NCGS OFR 2017-09.

9/8/17 - MM printed map out and awaits final approval.

9/7/17 - MM made corrections to KBT edits.

8/25/17 - MM added two references, per PB.

8/23/17 - MM added stereo diagrams from PB.  MM brought in STATEMAP numbers from Vicksboro for layout.  MM, with PB's assistance, assigned colors to MapUnitPolys.  MM added those colors to text blocks in Map Unit Descriptions in the layout.  MM awaiting Correlation Diagram from PB and will rearrange this last piece of the puzzle to layout.

8/22/17 - MM completed work for CSA.  MM added structural symbols and contacts in the layout.

8/21/17 - MM digitized lines for CSA.  On quad, MM digitized cross section line.  MM also swept the quad and adjusted dip number locations and made other necessary corrections.

8/18/17 - MM digitized diabase contacts.  MM created MapUnitPolys from contacts.  MM created OverlayPolys from contacts.  MM placed labels in correct spots

8/17/17 - MM georeferenced DB's full paper map - Warrenton_DaveRectify.tif.  MM completed ContactsandFaults feature class.  MM snapped nodes of these polylines to bordering lines.  MM added MapUnitPolysText_Warrenton dots to quad, in preparation for turning lines into polygons and having labels assigned to newly created polygons.

8/16/17 - MM digitized Qal contacts.  MM deleted contacts in western part of tif and will wait for DB's mailed copy of map.  Deleted contacts were shifted too much for use.  Tif image was chopped up and pasted together. 

8/14/17 - MM georeferenced SE_Warrenton_2017_STATEMAP-2.pdf, after saving it as a jpeg.  MM then added it to the Data View and began to digitize lines on quad.  MM had to adjust several lines because the pdf/jpeg was pasted together for image.

8/11/17 - MM completed massaging dip numbers around symbols.

8/10/17 - MM continued massaging dip numbers around symbols.

8/9/17 - MM continued massaging dip numbers around symbols.

8/8/17 - MM continued massaging dip numbers around symbols, until PB told him to stop.  PB said DB had messed up the spreadsheet, which explained why 37 points had "missing data" listed under Type.  PB gave him an updated spreadsheet and MM corrected the 37 points.  MM then stopped to work on Siler City for the day.

8/7/17 - MM continued massaging dip numbers around symbols.

8/4/17 - MM added other columns and manipulated the data so that the dip numbers would be ready to be moved around the symbols on the quad.  MM began to move the dip numbers around the symbols.

8/3/17 - MM received email from DB through PB that had the latest spreadsheet with points for the quad:  SE_Warrenton_2017_Final_Spreadsheet_7-10-17.  MM saved this .xlsx file into an .xls file in Excel.  MM then loaded this file into Arc and through Display XY Data, created a shapefile - ObservationPoints_Warrenton.  MM will try to add SM_CODE and other columns to shapefile.

2/17/17 - MM added the standard informational text to the layout, such as titles in the corners and the main title, as well as the logos in the lower left corner.

2/16/17 - MM created the folder, file geodatabase and feature dataset for Warrenton. MM used a GeoPDF of Warrenton to splice out some layers and create Warrenton_2016_cropped_ContHydroTrans.tif as a base map for the upcoming deliverable map.  MM then enhanced the contour lines for the topo map.

Dear Diary - Vicksboro 

6/22/20 - MM corrected map, per KT. Completed map given back to KT. Map now listed as OFR 2020-02. WE'RE DONE!

6/19/20 - KT finished noting corrections to the map.  MM now has map to make changes.

6/18/20 - ES said there were no other corrections needed, so MM printed a copy for KT to look at. 

6/11/20 - MM finished the rest of the ES Vicksboro edits (6/9/20), and then finished the corrections on the map sheet.  MM changed some foliation symbols to schistosity symbols (08.03.17-20).  MM finished final ES edits. MM rearranged symbols in layout. MM saved map as a pdf and emailed it to ES, PB and AR.

6/10/20 - MM received email from ES for new round of Vicksboro edits (6/9/20). MM completed all but 9, 10, and 12, which are PB's to answer and 13, that MM will do tomorrow, as well as screenshots of map that had MM corrections on map that was given to ES.

6/2/20 - MM made three changes to rock unit descriptions and a change to text in the Correlation Diagram, per ES email.

6/1/20 - MM reviewed most of ES emails and tried to edit what he wanted.  After asking ES some questions about changes, MM created pdf and emailed to ES.

3/16/20 - MM made some corrections to the layout and also took out some symbols and moved some symbols, as well as dip numbers, that were around the borderline.

3/9-3/10 - MM made the symbols and dip numbers the way they were before the accidental erasure.  MM also made minor changes that ES requested by email.  Once all changes were made, MM printed the map and gave to ES, later on 3/10.

3/2/20 - MM added "Commonly contains magnetite" to PPrgj description.  MM changed many points in NW area to "circle 3 Mars red 10" from "circle 3 clear 10" to reflect presence of diabase in MAJOR 1 column.  MM also changed inferred contact to diabase - inferred and moved the line to OtherLines_2018.  It will soon be labelled Jd2.

2/27/20 - MM realized yesterday that several days of Vicksboro work had been overwritten in an attempt to backup the files.  MM took the day to mainly get everything back to where it had been yesterday before the mistake.  MM completed the changes from ES email with Vicksboro_changes_022530.  MM still needs to standardized the ObservationPoints attributes from 1.1.1 to 01.01.01 and arrange the dip numbers around the points.  MM also needs to finish corrections that were done in the three previous days from ES additions.

2/26/19 - MM finished arranging the dip numbers around the ObservationPoints.  MM added new text descriptions and acknowledgements.  MM also increased page height to 37" from 36" because of more polygon descriptions.

2/25/19 - MM received addendum spreadsheet email from ES.  MM added the addendum to the PRODUCTION folder, then brought the excel file into the .mxd.  MM converted the excel file into a feature class, added a Symbol column and populated the 17 entries with values.  MM then incorporated the 17 entries into the OrientationPoints feature class.  MM then started arranging the dip numbers on the west half of the quad.

2/24/19 - MM received additional edits from ES.  MM made the necessary edits to internally rename the polygons.  MM also removed a horizontal foliation point.  MM, per PB's suggestion, merged the two ObservationStation feature classes into one.  Before doing that, however, MM had to reclassify the symbols from, say 4.3.2 to 04.03.02, for example.  MM then will adjust the locations of the newly brought in annotations (the dip numbers).

1/30/19 - MM added cataclasite.shp to the .mxd.  MM changed cataclasite entries in Vicksboro_ObservationPoints_West2 from circle 3 clear 10 to square 11 solar yellow 10.  Per an email from ES, I changed Vicksboro_ObservationPoints_West2 diabase entries from circle 3 clear 10 to circle 3 Mars red 10.

1/28/20 - MM added W_Vicksboro_traverses.shp to .mxd after receiving an email from ES.

11/20/19 - MM finished moving dip numbers and symbols around station locations.

11/19/19 - MM continued moving dip numbers and symbols around station locations.

11/15/19 - MM continued moving dip numbers and symbols around station locations.

11/13/19 - MM while trying to move dip numbers around symbols, MM realized "zombie" layer of ObservationPoints_west could not be accessed.  MM made duplicate version of this feature class and then deleted the original version from the .mxd.  MM then began process of moving dip numbers.

11/8/19 - MM finished populating the Symbol column.  MM symbolized the values and then created an annotation feature class in the .mxd.  On 11/12/19, MM will pick apart the dip numbers and begin the process of moving the dip numbers around the symbols.

11/7/19 - MM coded some of the western polygons.  MM detected some problems with the new spreadsheet in the Vicksboro_west_only points layer after turning it into points in the .mxd.  MM notified ES and he later sent a Vicksboro_west_onlyREV points layer.  MM also turned this into a points feature class and populated a new SM_CODE column and a Symbol column.  MM did not finish populating the Symbol column today.

11/6/19 - MM received data from ES for west half of Vicksboro, which includes dike_and_cataclasites, Vicksboro_MapUnitPolysPoints_2018, Draft_contacts and Data_Final2.  MM will incorporate this data into the Vicksboro_DISTRIBUTABLE_2019.mxd.  MM will await ES trimming Data_Final2 to just the western part of the quad.  MM copied contact lines from western half of quad and placed in new Data Frame.  MM then connected loose ends of contact lines.  Then MM used ArcToolbox to create new polygons and these polygons were placed in the .mxd.

6/28/18 - MM made one edit, per ES's request.  Station 631.03 was changed from spaced cleavage to crenulation cleavage.  This meant that spaced cleavage was taken out of the symbols layout and the stereonet text.  MM printed map for final, final review by KT.

6/27/18 - MM, along with PB, made final changes to verify map was correct and saved as pdf.  Assigned OFR 2018-11.  WE'RE DONE!!!

6/26/18 - MM raised ceiling of map in conjunction with rearranging layout.  MM printed map.  MM pasted new circular logo into layout.  MM made final printout and awaits approval for map.  PB is researching best way to create GeoPDF.

6/25/18 - MM fixed Qal contact line in southern part of quad to better match contour line.  MM copied MapUnitPolys to create boundary layer of polygons by merging all the polygons together.  MM made minor text changes in layout. 

6/22/18 - MM finished Correlation Diagram.  MM finished symbols explanation in layout.  MM brought in 2018 traverses to join 2017 version.  MM finished 2018 rock unit descriptions.  MM printed map for PB review.

6/21/18 - MM added four new stereonets.  MM worked on Correlation Diagram and will finish it tomorrow.  MM used 2018 lines to create 2018 polygons.  MM used MapUnitPolysPoints_2018 to label all the polygons.  MM used 2018 lines to create CSA polygons.  MM brought in new map description text for layout.

5/31/18 - MM completed moving dip numbers and symbols.

5/23/18 - MM started moving dip numbers and symbols in Vicksboro_ObservationPoints feature class.  MM also upgraded to Arc 10.6.

5/22/18 - MM put in values for Type, SM_CODE and Symbol columns and then merged with Vicksboro_ObservationPoints feature class.

5/21/18 - MM saved SE Vicksboro Data Cumulative.xls into the Vicksboro_PRODUCTION folder.  MM then added it to the Vicksboro_DISTRIBUTABLE.mxd.  MM used this .xls file to create Vicksboro_SE_ObservationPoints feature class.  MM added Type, SM_CODE and Symbol columns to attribute table. 

9/11/17 - KBT approves map as NCGS OFR 2017-08.

9/8/17 - MM printed map out and awaits final approval.

9/7/17 - MM made corrections to KBT edits. 

8/15/17 - With PB assistance, MM made four corrections to map, per ES email.  MM printed the map.

7/28/17 - MM received corrections from PB and fixed them.  MM added fault arrows to quad, added X's and O'x to CSA, adjusted text in symbols area of layout.  MM printed map again for ES to look over.

7/21/17 - MM made minor adjustments to text in layout.  MM added lines and text "by car" and "by foot" to traverse may in layout.  MM enlarged Correlation Diagram in layout.  MM compressed layout and printed map for corrections.  MM made corrections to map.

7/19/17 - MM completed placing symbols in the layout.  MM finished the CSA, with additional information from ES.  MM copied Correlation Diagram from Inez andadded it to layout.  MM then modified Correlation Diagram to match diagram in PB email.

7/18/17 - MM fixed some symbols and modified the traverse, which included adding LiDAR to the Data View.  MM also got some symbols prepared in the layout.

7/17/17 - MM created text dots and then create CSA_MapUnitPolys.

7/14/17 - MM added traverse from RB to a new Data View.  MM also placed this on the layout.  MM added stereonets to layout.  MM brought in new introduction and description of map units.  MM brought in Doodles from ES for CSA.  MM cut CSA, per PB, then snapped nodes.  

7/10/17 - MM labelled all Qal units and made minor changes to map.  MM also bolded text in rock unit descriptions and brought most of items in legend to layout.  Needs to complete symbols descriptions (ask PB) before bringing to layout.

6/14/17 - MM created concealed contact lines from breaking up regular and other contact lines.

6/7/17 - MM closed off polylines, which solved topology problem.  MM then created Qal polygons, now called Vicksboro_OverlayPolys.  MM later received from ES revised rock unit names for Vicksboro and changed the polygons names and colors to reflect the changes.  MM also received rock unit descriptions from ES and added them to the layout.

6/6/17 - MM saved Qal_doodles_6_5_17 from ES email to MM's Vicksboro_PRODUCTION folder.  MM added Qal_doodles_6_5_17 to .mxd and saved it as Vicksboro_Qal_polylines.  MM then ran topology on it and corrected most of the errors.  Arc is not acknowledging that corrections have been made to lines.  Will look into it tomorrow.

6/1/17 - MM combined six doodle layers into one feature class.  MM ran topology and corrected line errors and then created polygon layer.  MM labelled polygons and then created FaultsAndContacts feature class.  MM also moved dip numbers that conflicted with lines.

5/31/17 - MM finished arranging dip numbers.  ES sent doodle lines for rock unit contacts for the NE part of Vicksboro.  PB helped nail down the border for the NE quadrant map.  ES sent additional doodle to clarify edgematch issue with Middleburg.  

5/30/17 - MM continued to arrange dip numbers and symbols around measurement location.

5/26/17 - MM added Vicksboro_Quad_EFS_3_4_15.xls and Greystone_Quarry_Oct_8_2010.shp to the .mxd.  MM copied NE_Vicksboro_CumulativeFinal to create Vicksboro_ObservationPoints feature class, and then added those two other point files to the new feature class.  MM then added SM_CODE to the new feature class and then symbolized the points, as well as arranged the dip numbers.

5/25/17 - MM added ES NE_Vicksboro_CumulativeFinal.xls to .mxd.  MM turned .xls into feature class.  MM then added RB's three points to .mxd and added those three points to new Vicksboro_NE_CumulativeFinal feature class.
